ASSOCIATES OF SION make a formal commitment to the charism of the Sisters of Sion in its threefold commitment to the Church, to the Jewish people, and to a world of justice, peace and love (Const. 13). They are a presence of Sion in all aspects of life as they continue their work in the home, the workplace and the secular community with a new motivation. The community’s charism permeates their person and their life, and their work is transformed from a job to a ministry. With a formal commitment to the community’s charism, Associates use their personal gifts and talents to contribute to the manifestation of God’s Kingdom already growing among us.
During the course of at least one year the aspiring Associate is introduced to the basic elements of the Sion Charism. This is done through the study of and reflection on the Constitutions of the Sisters of Our Lady of Sion, and on the history of the Congregation. After Associates have made a commitment to the charism their formation is continued and deepened during the course of their associateship. Resources for this basic and continuing formation are provided on the following pages.
